Tilghman GASS

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal 1-12-1917 p 1

Tilghman GASS for more than a 1/4 of a century the driver of the hack between Crawfordsville and Alamo died today at the home of Alexander Campbell at the corner of Pike & Pine Streets. He was 63 and was known by almost everyone in the city and county as the man who ran the Alamo Bus. "Til" Gass as he was called started the hack line when the demand grew for regular transportation between the county seat and the little village which no railroad connects. For many years he drove a two-horse bus over the 11 mile route..,. (sorry rest is gone)
